EMBO EMBO
EMBO stands for excellence in the life sciences. EMBO is an organization of more than 1800 leading researchers that promotes excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a research environment where scientists can achieve their best work. EMBO helps young scientists to advance their research, promote their international reputations and ensure their mobility. Courses, workshops, conferences and EMBO Press publications disseminate the latest research and offer training in techniques to maintain high standards of excellence in research practice. EMBO helps to shape science policy by seeking input and feedback from our community and by following closely the trends in science. EMBO supports talented researchers, selected through impartial evaluation processes, to allow them to do great science. The wide scienti?c scope across the full range of life science research coupled with the broad geographical reach of more than 1800 members and associate members – some of the best researchers in Europe and around the world – positions EMBO optimally to serve the life science community.
Gatan Gatan
There is always more to see. And when you’re working with electron microscopy, the closer you can get to your sample, the more of its secrets it will reveal. That’s why at Gatan we have spent the last 50 years working with our customers to push the boundaries of what can be done with electron microscopy. Together, we have invented new approaches to problems that deliver fresh understanding. With state of the art cameras, imaging energy filters, specimen preparation equipment and other EM products and solutions, we take the most powerful microscopy on earth and make it work even harder for you. Gatan. Let’s get closer.

Nanotemper Nanotemper
Stefan Duhr and Philipp Baaske set out to build a company to address challenges researchers were facing with the ultimate goal of helping to move science forward. NanoTemper was started in 2008 after Stefan and Philipp met at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. At the time, the effect of thermophoresis was not known within the Life Sciences community, but Stefan and Philipp knew that it was important. Realizing the shortcomings of current protein research techniques, they came up with a method, MicroScale Thermophoresis that was enormously sensitive, and would bring researchers one step closer to developing better drugs faster.
